About
Historian and author Mike Virgintino presents on Freedomland U.S.A., the American-history theme park that operated in the Bronx from 1960 to 1964 on the site now occupied by Co-op City. Drawing on his book "Freedomland U.S.A.: The Definitive History," the talk traces the park's creators, attractions, and entertainers from conception to bankruptcy. A memorabilia display accompanies the presentation at the Desmond-Fish Public Library.
